Summer Salad Special

From: Mossuto’s Market in Wall Township, NJ
I have officially joined the “be healthy” bandwagon when it comes to incorporating kale into my diet. Anytime I can order a refreshing kale salad, I jump on it. This is a summer special from Mossuto’s Market that comes with kale, toasted almonds, farro, ricotta salata and fresh squeezed lemon with olive oil. It’s packed with different textures, varying levels of nutrition, and look how pretty it is?

It doesn’t hurt that absolutely anything you order from Mossuto’s Market is absolute perfection. It is a family-owned spot that I have featured on my blog before and they know how to cook one heck of a meal and how to treat their customers right. If you stop by to order from them, tell Rosella or Ben I say hello.

The Committed Pig

Happy Fourth of July everyone! If you are heading down to Squan for the long weekend, check out The Committed Pig. It is right on the corner of Main Street and right before you enter the mecca of Jersey Shore rentals. They had great options to chose from for both brunch and dinner.

Right before I began my night rocking out at Osprey, I stopped in for the Chipotle Bacon burger. It comes with muenster cheese, onion rings, and a bacon chipotle mayo. Can we just take a second to appreciate how delicious those onion rings look? Plus, as you can see I clearly needed an extra side of the bacon-infused mayo. I mean… I guess I didn’t really need it. It is summer and all. 😉

It was such a cute spot and definitely provides those in the area with a great dining option. Plus, they have one in Morristown! Enjoy.

Artichoke Francaise

Rella’s Italian Tavern in Brielle, NJ

Do you love lemon, butter, and white wine? Clearly the answer is yes to all three, but when you combine those ingredients you get a trifecta of taste and it’s called francaise sauce. I am definitely a chicken francaise fan, but there’s something even more delectable. Artichoke francaise! I guess you have to enjoy the taste of artichokes, I personally do in my antipasto. However, I would argue that these are so tasty that it will make you into an artichoke groupie.

Each piece of artichoke is lightly battered, fried and doused in the lemon, butter, white wine sauce that I mentioned above. If you love Italian food you will know one of the best parts of a dish like this is being able to dip your bread in the sauce when the meal is complete. It’s like two meals in one.

You can find these at Rella’s, which is a tavern in Brielle (located next to Manasquan.) What this means for all of you beach-goers who like to go “DTS” as soon as Memorial Day hits, is that you now have a great place to go. We got a bunch of apps with our drinks at the bar area and we were good to go. What I loved about Rella’s was the neighborhood feel. It’s just a good new spot to check out where “everybody knows your name!”

A Classico Sandwich

A Classico Sandwich

From: Mossuto’s Market in Wall Twp, NJ
I’ve already mentioned how amazing Mossuto’s Market is in a previous post, but why not do so again? This is their breaded chicken, prosciutto, mutz, roasted red peppers and balsamic sandwich served on fresh Italian bread. What I love most about this sandwich besides all the perfect toppings, is that the chicken is tender and fresh. So many times I get a chicken cutlet sandwich from somewhere and the main ingredient is lacking. If you don’t want to be disappointed, then get the “Classico” from this place.
